How to Meet International People in Valencia Through Padel
New in Valencia? Looking to make friends, meet people from different countries and find something fun to do every week? Sometimes, all you need is a padel racket and a reason to show up.
New city, new people… but where do you start?
Valencia is an amazing place to live. Sunshine, beaches, terraces, great food and a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle. What’s not to love?
But whether you’ve just moved here or you’ve been living in Valencia for years, meeting new people isn’t always as easy as it sounds.
Maybe you’re an expat trying to build a social circle from scratch. Maybe you’re a digital nomad working remotely and missing those everyday interactions. Or perhaps you’re a local who loves meeting people from different countries and wants to do something different at the weekend.
You can try language exchanges, networking events or meeting people for drinks. And there’s nothing wrong with any of those.
But what if you could meet new people while having fun, learning a sport and getting some exercise at the same time?
That’s where padel comes in.
Why padel is such a great way to meet people in Valencia
One of the best things about padel is that it’s naturally social.
You usually play doubles, which means you’re constantly interacting with other people. You’re talking to your partner, laughing about missed shots, celebrating good points and encouraging each other.
And somehow, conversations happen without anyone forcing them.
You don’t need to think of the perfect icebreaker or worry about awkward silences. You’re already sharing an experience.
A simple «Nice shot!» can turn into «Where are you from?» and, before you know it, you’re chatting about life in Valencia.
That’s the beauty of meeting people through a shared hobby: you already have something in common before you’ve even introduced yourself.
An international community where English and Spanish come together
At Let’s Play Padel in Valencia, part of OSU Padel, we bring together locals, expats and people from all over the world who share one thing: they want to play, have fun and meet new people.
Our sessions are mainly in English, but Spanish is always welcome too. It’s a relaxed, international environment where different languages and cultures naturally mix.
And the best part? It’s not a language exchange. Nobody is there to practise grammar or follow conversation exercises. You simply play, enjoy yourself and let the conversations happen.
Never played padel before? Even better!
«I’ve never played before. Will I be good enough?»
Don’t worry! You don’t need any experience to join us.
Padel is a fun and accessible sport, and our social sessions include a guided warm-up, a few practical exercises and friendly matches organised by level.
Whether you’re picking up a racket for the first time or you’ve already played regularly, you’ll have the chance to learn, improve and enjoy the game with others.
And remember, nobody expects perfection. Sometimes the worst shots bring the biggest laughs!
One weekly activity, plenty of new connections
There’s something special about having an activity you genuinely look forward to every week.
Every Saturday, we organise our OSU Padel Social in Valencia, with two 90-minute sessions: 2:00–3:30 PM and 3:30–5:00 PM. You can choose whichever time suits you best, or join both sessions if you can’t get enough padel!
A great way to play, have fun, meet new people and enjoy your weekend in good company.
You come along, play a few games and start recognising familiar faces.
One week you’re meeting someone for the first time. A few sessions later, you’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces at the next OSU Padel Social, grabbing a coffee together or making plans outside the court.
That’s how friendships often happen: naturally, through shared experiences and spending time together.
Padel gives you a reason to meet again. And that’s when a group of players can start to feel like a community.
What makes Let’s Play Padel in Valencia different?
I created Let’s Play Padel in Valencia with a simple idea: bring people together through a sport that’s fun, accessible and naturally social.
As a padel coach and language teacher, I’ve always loved sharing my passion for padel and seeing how this amazing sport brings people together, no matter where they’re from or what language they speak.
Our sessions combine a little coaching with plenty of playing, a friendly atmosphere and the chance to meet different people.
You don’t need a partner, previous experience or a group of friends to join.
Just sign up, show up and enjoy the game. We’ll take care of the rest!
Your next group of friends might be waiting on a padel court
